Migrant Action Trust
Growing confident communities together by assisting migrants and former refugee communities in integrating into the mainstream New Zealand society, enabling them to participate and actively contribute to the country's development, and to achieve their aspirations of a better life.
We help migrants and former refugees to be job-ready and road-ready!
At Migrant Action Trust, our programmes are under three categories: Migrants Supporting Migrants (MSM); Checking and Assisting Resettlers, Elderlies, and Solo Mums (CARES); and Puketāpapa Community Driving School (PCDS).
At Migrant Action Trust, our programmes are under three categories: Migrants Supporting Migrants (MSM); Checking and Assisting Resettlers, Elderlies, and Solo Mums (CARES); and Puketāpapa Community Driving School (PCDS).
Under our MSM programme, we offer FREE opportunities to our service users to improve their chances to join the New Zealand workforce. We run monthly Employment and Immigration Workshops; 1:1 Sessions on CV and Cover Letter Writing, Job Interview Prep, and Immigration Consultation, and classes on English Language and IELTS/PTE for NZ temporary visa holders.
Included in our CARES Programmes are our regular visits to our elderlies, assistance on basic techy needs, and other assistance that our service users might need.
Not only do we help migrants and former refugees to become job-ready, we also want them to be road-ready. Our Puketāpapa Community Driving School (PCDS) is our community-led driving school which aims to prepare our driving students to be independent and confident in their driving.

Need Support to get a Driver Licence?
The community CARES Learner Driver programme supports former refugees, single mothers, and elderlies, in need of mobility and independence, with subsidised driving lessons. Selected applicants will receive tailored assistance to navigate Aotearoa's licencing system

The Migrant Action Trust empowers migrants and former refugees through employment-readiness workshops, community driving programs, and various community-building projects. As w celebrate our 20th anniversary of growing confident communities in Tamaki Makarau, we cordially invite you to celebrate with us.
To mark this milestone, we are calling on you to partner with us in supporting 20 more free English classes and one-on-one job search coaching sessions for newly settled migrants. We also aim to empower 20 more former refugees, particularly solo mothers, through culturally appropriate and trauma-sensitive driving lessons that will grant them the gift of independence.
Your support will help the Migrant Action Trust enhance its capacity to support new settlers by increasing their employability, boosting their confidence, mobility to services, reducing isolation, and improving the overall well-being of the whole whanau.
